Assistance with our MOT bay project management
V-Tech have made the process of becoming an MOT testing station easier. At present many businesses refer customers to other local garages because their workshop do not offer MOT testing . However, there are many downfalls to this. They lose customers, and revenue to competitors. As you probably know, there are a lot of regulations and hurdles to becoming a DVSA approved MOT testing station.
V-Tech can take the stress and pressure away from you, as we can assist you with the full MOT Bay project management from start to finish. Here’s how:
1. Initial enquiry comes into MOT professionals
Our team of MOT professionals deal with every MOT enquiry that comes into the office within a timely manner. With their years of expertise in this area, they can give you some of the best advice and options on what type of MOT Bay is best suited for your specific workshop space and design. At this stage our team will discuss the equipment in question and ensure that you are happy with the quote we have sent you. During this time, we will also speak to you about the flexible finance options if required. We’re proud to be able to offer many MOT configurations to suit your exact requirements.
2. In-depth site survey
The next step will be for our team to visit your premises to carry out an in-depth site survey. This allows us to take the relevant measurements to ensure your choice of MOT Bay will fit within your designated space. We’ll also create a realistic CAD drawing for you so you can really visualise what your MOT bay will look like within your workshop.
3. Assistance with VT01 application
All new MOT testing stations must be approved by the DVSA. We are unique in being able to assist with the DVSA VT01 application to achieve an Authorisation In Principle (AIP). This ensures that your garage is legally approved to be an MOT testing station.
4. Arrange groundworks / electrics
If necessary, our team can arrange any relevant groundworks that need to be done prior to installation of your MOT equipment. This includes groundworks for inspection pits, four post and scissor lifts, brake testers, and more. We can also arrange final electrical connections; however, this is subject to site surveys.
5. Arrange additional services
If for any reason you require additional services prior to your garage equipment being fitted, we can assist with this too. For example, if you need help arranging floor painting or air pipe work.
6. Professional installation of MOT equipment
Finally, once all prep work has been completed, we can arrange for our dedicated team of nationwide, GEA accredited Engineers to come to site and professionally install your full MOT Bay. We will also train your team on how best to use the equipment we have supplied to ensure that everyone is comfortable and confident using the equipment daily at your workshop.
7. Assistance with DVSA VT01 part D
Once your MOT equipment has been professionally fitted by our Garage Equipment Engineers, we will then assist you with the DVSA VT01 part D. We will assist with photographs, of the MOT Bay in situ and attach these photos and the relevant calibration certification and send back to the DVSA for their final approval and sign off.
8. On-going UK aftercare support and servicing
Once the DVSA are happy with the outcome of your MOT Bay installation you will officially become a DVSA approved MOT testing station. However, it’s important to ensure that you have a service plan in place. At V-Tech we can arrange a suitable service plan for you to assist with regular servicing, preventative maintenance, calibrations, emergency breakdowns and more.
