Job Description: Based Installation / Service Engineer

Location:London

Reporting to: Service Manager

Responsibilities:

• Install Garage Equipment at customer’s premises at various locations within the UK as required
• Ensure the equipment is installed to the correct specifications and positions, and to the required standards
• Carryout Service / repair work as required at customer’s premises at various locations within the UK
• Co-ordinate with the Service Manager to ensure you have the correct products and equipment required for each location
• Ensure all items are present and correct when loading Company vehicles / trailers for dispatch, which includes any missing items from our products which will cause delays and inconvenience when reaching site.
• Ensure the products and lifting equipment are loaded and secured onto the Company vehicles / trailers in a safe way and that no damage occurs to them during the loading process, and during transportation.
• Ensure the equipment is loaded correctly to permit a safe journey
• Ensure appropriate lifting equipment is loaded onto vehicles (unless it is known there is suitable lifting equipment available on the customers site)
• Ensure the correct installation / training paperwork and documentation is completed fully and signed by the customer, and returned to the main office in Alton
• Ensure site job sheets are completed fully and correctly and returned to the main office in Alton, and placed in the trays for finished and open jobs.
• Ensure that Health & Safety standards are maintained, including safe working practices. Report any incidents which may compromise this. Ensure any local H&S rules are adhered to when on customers site.
• Ensure a professional and positive attitude is maintained at all times – especially when customer facing
• Ensure you remain clean, tidy and respectable and that Company Uniform is worn at all times
• Ensure the Company vehicle you are driving is clean, tidy, rubbish free and presentable at all times, especially when on customers site.
• Ensure any tools and equipment used for your daily tasks are maintained, calibrated and cared for.
• Ensure a brief daily walk round check of the vehicle you are using is carried out and any defects reported in the correct way.

Essential Skills / Experience Required:

• Clean appropriate driving licence
• Experience with towing and reversing trailers on vehicles rated at 3.5 ton GVW, with the correct driving licence.
• Holder of a digital tacho card for towing purposes
• Must have good people and interaction skills with a strong ability to communicate clearly with others at all levels.
• Must be self motivated, able to work without supervision and under pressure to achieve results within tight deadlines
• Sound knowledge of Health & safety and safe working practices.
• Previous experience and a manual handling environment

Desirable Skills / Experience Required:
• Experience in First Aid, certification
• Experience in a customer facing role.
• Forklift licence
• GEA Accreditation
• Previous experience in Garage Equipment Industry
Individual / Personal Skills Required:
• Able to maintain a high degree of personal standards and conduct, ensuring a professional, positive and willing attitude at all times
• Maintain a high level of self motivation
• Interact with a wider team, and be a prime team player. Assist colleagues when required, help to motivate other team members to achieve goals and objectives for the good of the individual and the company
• Maintain a high standard of appearance at all times, especially when customer facing
• Respect and understand objectives / targets set by management, and execute them in professional, effective and efficient manner

• Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed and adhered, including HR and Heath / Safety guidelines
• Ensure a safe working practice is adopted at all times which does not put the individual or others at risk
• Continually promote the business, especially to outsiders and fully support the future success of the company
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction / standards at all times
• Perform any other task / request by management in a responsible and efficient way
